The end of the infamous X-factor?

Hit UK show, the X-Factor which is the sister show to US hit, American Idol, is to take a harsh u-turn next year as the lead anchor for the television program, Simon Cowell has confessed he might leave. Can you imagine the X-Factor show without, Simon Cowell? All the snide comments, the cheeky winking and the very strange haircut! It just wouldn’t be the same without him to be honest which is why the show’s producers are more than eager to arrange another deal with Simon Cowell as soon as possible. Simon has repeatedly been talking about his departure from the show stating that he only has one year left on his contract and he will assess it closer to the time. In all honesty, I think it is time for a shake up in the x-factor but it wouldn’t be the same without Simon. The UK born judge also works on neighbouring American shows like, American Idol and Britain’s Got Talent. His current schedule is exhausting claims Simon, ‘something has to give as my schedule for the year is simply too much’. This year’s show has been the best to date as it attracted the biggest names in pop such as, Beyonce, Britney Spears and BoyZone to appear live on stage with the contestants. As far as Ratings are concerned it has been the most incredible turn out with over six million people tuning in to watch the final at the weekend just gone. There have also been rumours considering the future of judge Danni Minogue as she has literally been out classed by fellow judge, Cheryl Cole from UK band, Girls Aloud.
If Simon Cowell were to quit the show, who on earth would take his place? I can’t imagine anyone on TV at the moment which would be able to fill Simon Cowell’s shoes as the angry, witty, slightly charming judge that everyone loves and hates at the same time.

Robbie Williams to appear on x-factor in 2009

Simon Cowell is rumoured to be making big plans to try to lure Robbie Williams to be a judge on next year’s x-factor. It has been claimed that the current presenter on the show, Dannii Minogue may be booted off the show after a furious back stage brawl with fellow judge, Louis Walsh. Danni Minogue admitted earlier this week that she felt distressed and upset when Louis Walsh accused her of stealing his song choice for his band, JLS for her contestant Rachel Hylton. None of these acts actually won the competition in the end but the argument has fuelled hatred that is still going strong between the two judges. Dannii Minogue was also displeased at the fact that the new judge, Cheryl Cole took her special little seat next to lead judge, Simon Cowell and has also looked into rumours that Cheryl Cole is actually getting paid more than she is.
Yet, Minogue has denied reports that she is leaving the competition. She has stated that the producers have told her she is staying and that she has not heard anything different. However a spokesman for the X-Factor show has said that no decisions had been made about who is staying in the competition and that it is all speculation. Personally, I think it is quite exciting that Robbie Williams might be a judge on the show however I would only think that is mere speculation and nothing else at the moment. Addititionally, you have to ask yourself what it will do for the credibility of Robbie Williams’ career as the x-factor is exactly the most highly respected event within the music industry. Liam Gallagher from Oasis has openly stated that the x-factor is a sham and puts false hopes in people minds who are considering getting involved with the music industry. ‘It makes people think that getting into the music industry is easy’.
